Mrs. Allison Paul-Perry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology with an emphasis in clinical psychology; a Master’s in Human Service Management; and a Master’s in Social Work. Her positionality includes cis-gender female, Caucasian lesbian, she/her pronouns, lower middle age, middle class, multi-racial and ethnic family, Kentucky born and raised, world traveler, biological mother of multiples, divorced and remarried, athletic background, adult learner, family member of individuals with behavioral health challenges.

 

For over 20 years, Allison has worked in the field of social work focusing on youth, young adults, and families. Her passion for this population led to a lengthy career in the child welfare system. This included working with youth, young adults, and families who interfaced with homeless shelters, transitional group homes, independent living programs, judicial, foster care, and educational systems. In recent years, Allison became a LCSW to focus on helping others heal and lead more empowering and satisfying lives. As a therapist, she has experience providing clinical services within an adult in-patient crisis unit where she works with a wide variety of individuals facing an array of life situations and mental health challenges. Prior to joining Awen Health & Wellness, Allison maintained a small mental health private practice.  

 

Allison believes in the power of authenticity and the notion that everyone’s journey towards healing is different. She is genuinely curious about each persons’ experiences as they move through their lives and enjoys helping each person develop their own path to wellness. Allison specializes in adult treatment and utilizes an array of clinical techniques including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
