Alanna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, invested in the well-being of this community. Alanna is a firm believer in the power of hope and hard work. With 23 years of experience as a Social Worker and more than 19 years as a Therapist, Alanna is committed to the collaborative process of mental and emotional health recovery. Alanna believes that everyone is unique. No one approach fits every situation. You may be looking for help to relieve a particular distress or you may be looking to get to know your own inner world better. In the therapeutic process, Alanna can work with you to choose a way to go forward on your path. The partnership can work together to get through an acute crisis or life event, or larger projects over time. The life of the mind, the complexity of human emotions, and the depth of life experiences all play roles in individuals’ strengths and challenges.

Alanna graduated from the University of Louisville in 1997 from the College of Arts and Sciences with a BA in Psychology. Additional energies were put into the study of Spanish culture and language and Anthropology, as well as service to the community around the Metro Louisville footprint. Alanna graduated with an MSW from the University of Denver in 1999, with particular focus in the medical and legal systems. After returning to Kentucky, Seven Counties Services provided nearly five years of intense and instructive time with adults managing severe and persistent mental health issues in one of the most chronically underserved areas of Louisville. Those years supported an environment to learn from the consumers and the area services, as well as providing the platform to study and complete LCSW training in 2002. After 16 years in traditional outpatient mental health practice, Alanna is excited to expand the voyage into the world of telehealth and explore enhanced services beyond that.  In keeping with core social work principals, Alanna is invested in meeting people where they are in their journeys.

Embracing healing and wellness is key to maximizing your potential. In the service of healing, Alanna wants to help clients understand the underlying factor(s) contributing to unresolved issues within their personal & professional lives. Alanna’s goal is to provide a wholistic approach to treatment by assessing the individual's environment as well as their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. She specializes in working with school-aged children, adolescents and young adults, the complete span of adulthood, mothers, LGBTQIA+ folks, and humans recovering from trauma and substance abuse. The therapeutic processes can focus on the individual, couples and families in resolving interpersonal conflict, life crisis, managing anxiety, depression, anger, and a spectrum of layered diagnoses. Alanna pulls from an array of techniques in helping clients overcome barriers and conflict including solution focus therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and client-centered therapy.

Alanna has gratefully resided in Louisville for 23 years with her husband, children, a menagerie of animals, and gardens in every direction. Alanna feeds her soul with music, both stillness and activity outdoors, travelling, crafting, and plugging in with family and friends, wherever they may be.

Alanna looks forward to creating healing partnerships as you take on the projects of healing and recovery.
